How we use energy sector to empower disadvantaged communities

Renewable energy

One way to cut greenhouse gas emissions is by using more renewable energy, such as wind and solar power. These provide endless supplies of energy, unlike fossil fuels which will run out one day. And unlike burning fossil fuels in power stations, generating electricity from renewables produces little to no greenhouse gases.

With an increasing global drive to reduce the carbon footprint on the environment by introducing green initiatives, renewable energy solutions have become a priority and RAPO is well positioned and committed to playing a major role in this space.

Solar PV and wind turbine technology costs have reduced significantly over the last 13 years and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) costs are also fast-reducing. In many cases, renewable energy systems are not only producing cleaner electricity but also at a lower cost than grid supplied electricity.

Redemption Against Poverty Organization is uncompromising in our approach and understands the complexity of selecting the right mix of renewable energy technologies, energy storage, grid power and conventional back-up generation to successfully execute a project.

RAPO has in-depth knowledge and experience to guide its our community through the countless possible scenarios, to arrive at a solution which best suits their needs.

We partner with our funders in investigating and evaluating the various power supply options. We analyze and evaluate collected data to determine the efficiency of the different power generation technologies whilst considering CAPEX and OPEX costs. In short, RAPO is there every step of the way, from pre-feasibility to final execution and maintenance of the power plant, should that be a requirement.

Within the Renewable Energy sector, RAPO offers solutions that integrate a multitude of technologies in the most varied technical disciplines and sectors. These include the following:

  • Solar Energy
  • Wind Energy
  • Hydro Energy
  • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Waste to Energy Plants
  • Geothermal
  • Hybrid Plants
